Indigenous Manager (I-Manager), advancement training for those wanting to enhance their management and leadership skills.
The I-Manager Program supports participants to build on
their management, administrative, leadership knowledge,
skills, and capabilities to increase their organizations’
impact in their community.
Aims to develop key economic and business leadership skills for Indigenous leaders, village and band managers, economic development officers and organization managers.
Participants will apply these skills to develop additional economic opportunities and make a difference in their communities. They will develop innovatively and critically, and communicate clearly and concisely, specifically to lead oil and gas related economic development projects for their communities.
Though programs exist to teach these skills, there are no programs dedicated bringing together a cohort of Indigenous leaders within the same context to build a network for the next decades of their careers.
Enable Indigenous economic leaders to overcome the barrier of accessing world-class business education in oil and gas venture opportunity evaluation specific to Indigenous context.
Strong community leaders spearhead community enhancement projects that boost the economy and demonstrate the value of working collaboratively with other communities to enhance and promote sustainable use of natural resources.
Strategic partnerships will impact multiple communities as services and markets expand and enhance the become increasingly inclusive of Indigenous people in meaningful ways.
50% of seats in the program will be reserved for Indigenous women, in recognition of the underrepresentation of Indigenous women in the oil and gas industry in Western Canada.
